When I first conceptualized Dope Haus, I was surrounded by considerably inspirational women with amazing ideas and a determination to carry out positive impact on the world. Since then, some things have changed, however one has remained constant - that is my unwavering confidence in women across the globe. I'm not even here on some political shit right now (because trust me, it could easily be that), instead I'd like to focus on building an ecosystem of women who support women, making it a norm to uplift one another. Imagine the outcome that will live on to influence the generations after us. So, as Queen Bey says, "come on ladies, now let's get in formation".
Over the next few weeks, the Dope Haus website will feature its own "Pussy Power" page complete with a carefully curated collection of greeting cards, t-shirts, and digital prints/graphic designs - all honouring women. I will also be using my platform to amplify the voices of my peers who are also doing the damn thing - this includes featuring and promoting writers on the blog and social media. To all the women I have ever connected with, whether it was a simple email/message exchange or if we're homies IRL (in real life), I implore you to constantly look for ways to add value to others. If you have ideas, would like to collaborate with Dope Haus (or shoot with me in the metaphorical gym), you can reach out by emailing dopehausco@gmail.com.
Design inspiration is based on large cat species, so if you see a lot of animal print, I apologize in advance. I can also guarantee that it will be tastefully done, no Peggy Bundy vibes. Large cats are described as being strong, fierce, and extremely dangerous when hungry, and I dunno about you, but I feel a connection. The physical feline agility can be compared to the flexibility and innovation that women often must embrace in order to navigate several systems. I look forward to learning, growing, and testing the waters.
Don't get shit twisted, this movement includes trans women and cisgendered women alike, and if you can't get down with that, fuck you.
